1951/52 Estimates.

Public Works Recurrent - Miscellaneous: Typhoon and Rainstorm Damage.

$100,000 was provided in the estimates this year for repairs necessitated by typhoon and rainstorm damage. Two supplementary provisions totalling $397,000 to Head 29 Subhead 47 have already been approved covering repairs occasioned by damage last year and in a severe rainstorm early this year. Recent rains have caused further damage necessitating additional

supplementary provision of $200,000 bringing the total supplementary provisions authorised this year to $597,000.

Your covering approval for these provisions is sought in accordance with your despatch 302 of 25th September, 1948.
